The Grassroots Association for Community Empowerment (GRACE) is a not-for-profit organization (NPO), registered under Companies Ordinance 1984 with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).
Developing out of an indigenous grassroots children's campaign for education in 1992, GRACE contributions have expanded from education and health to issues related to the Environment, Natural Resource Management (NRM), Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and Livelihoods. Also, target communities have expanded from those in a single, remote village in Baltistan to encompass the entire country.
The GRACE Association promotes the political, legal, and socioeconomic aspirations of marginalized and vulnerable communities (particularly women and children) in order to create a sustainable, equitable, prosperous and peaceful society.
GRACE Association endeavours to empower and improve the quality of life of the marginalized and vulnerable communities of the country through welfare, participatory research and development, capacity building, promotion of best practices and partnership building, advocacy and by launching sustainable and replicable innovative projects.
GRACE is governed by a Board of Directors - a dedicated team of leadership volunteers, whose task is to set and achieve the Association's broader goal for GRACE. In addition, the Board ensures GRACE's mission is continuously reflected in the work of the Association and that its people accomplish objectives in accordance with the strategic plan. Board members are also responsible for monitoring and implementing the strategic plan objectives, increasing awareness of the Association and cultivating donors and partners. The registered office of GRACE is in Islamabad, with programme offices situated in cities throughout the country. The Association's day-to-day operations are managed by the Chief Executive.
GRACE Association Pakistan coordinates nationwide membership contributions, membership fees, revenue generating and signature events to raise funding and awareness for our programmes. Other resourcing activities include:
