English Access Microscholarship Program, Skardu - April 2010
GRACE and US Embassy Islamabad signed the English Access Microscholarship Program Grant Agreement English Access Microscholarship, Larry Schwartz, US Embassy, Khadim Hussain, GRACE
Chief Executive, GRACE Association Pakistan Mr. Khadim Hussain and Mr. Larry Schwartz, Public Affairs Officer, U.S. Embassy Islamabad, Pakistan, signed an agreement on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 to run the English ACCESS Microscholarship Program at Grace Public School Skardu for the next two years.
The goal of the program is to prepare bright students in both written and spoken English, so that they can more easily integrate into the global marketplace and have access to the world. read_more...

World Disability Day Awareness Walk - December 2009
Organized by Grace Association Pakistan and PPHI Skardu
Grace Association Pakistan in collaborations with Prime Minister Primary Healthcare Initiative Skardu organized an Awareness Walk regarding the World Disability Day on December 3, 2009 in a unique way by providing opportunity for people with disabilities to voice up for their rights in Gilgit Baltistan. An awareness raising walk has been organized at 11:30 AM from Grace Public School to Radio Pakistan Chowk Skardu to sensitize the people about the rights of people with disabilities and to express solidarity with them. read_more...


GRACE Women Vocational Training Centre Astana Skardu - November 2009 Certificate Award Ceremony
On completion of the 6 months training course a certification program was organized by Grace Program Office Skardu on November 17, 2009 at Grace Public School. 25 women were completed the training successfully. Two lady Instructors Ms Zakia Nisar Khan and Ms Zeban Muhammad were hired by Grace to train the women in the said course. GRACE WATER SUPPLY ASTANA SKARDU INITIATED! - November 2009
Grace Association Pakistan begins implementation of the project: GRACE Water Supply Astana Skardu funded by Government of Japan Embassy in Pakistan on November 14 2009. The project costs Rs.7.23 Millions. A meeting of the elders of all 4 project villages conducted at Grace Program Office Skardu to discuss on term of responsibilities and to sign the Memorandum of Understandings. 26 village elders and clergy, local political representatives from all 4 project villages participated in the 2day meetings on November 15-16, 2009. read_more...


GRACE Holds Polling Workshops for Women - November 2009
Prior to the Gilgit Baltistan Legislative Assembly Elections 2009, GRACE gave its contribution to the conduction of fair and free elections by holding two polling workshops for women. The workshops were held on November 10 in Brolmo Colony Madrassa and November 11 in Kwardu Al`Zahra Girls Middle School. GRACE Receives US$90262 Grant from Government of Japan for Water Supply Project - November 2009
The grant of US$90262 for the project “Female Social Empowerment through 4 Kilometers Potable Water for Displaced People Astana Skardu” was received under the Government of Japan Official Development Assistance program “Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects”. The agreement was signed between H.E Mr. Chihiro Atsumi, the Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan and GRACE Chief Executive Officer Wazir Shamshad Hussain in the Embassy of Japan in Islamabad on November 4, 2009. read_more...


South Waziristan IDPs Need Our Help! - November 2009
Members of GRACE report that Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from Waziristan can only sustain themselves for a short time with very limited provisions that they have been able to carry with them so that basic relief assistance is required.
On October 17th, 2009 the Pakistan Army also launched a military operation in South Waziristan. Communication lines in the conflict area have been cut off since that time. Thousands of inhabitants of the conflict-affected areas continue to flee to neighboring districts including Dera Ismail Khan and Tank in the southern area of North West Frontier Province and are taking refuge in with friends and family in local communities. read_more...


Japan funds Grace Public School - May 12, 2008
Grace Association requested Himalayan Green Club Japan for construction of building for this school. Now, Ministry of Foriegn Affairs (MOFA) Japan funds to construct the building and school is constructing under execution of and School Management Committee. School provides basic and co-education to displaced and other deprived children. A signifcance of this school is inclusive education where about 15 children with diverse abilities are getting education inclusively. Grace Association plans to admit more children with disabilities establishing model of inclusive learning friendly environment in the school.
